Giacomo Tessari
Documentary Photography
I believe in documentary photography as an honest testimony and a visual archive for the future. Inspired by the great tradition of Italian black and white photography and the ethical approach of masters like Gianni Berengo Gardin, I look for the essence of reality within the unrepeatable moment of human interaction. People are the core focus of my work: their presence is what makes each frame unique and non-replicable. For this reason, I practice a photography of patience and candid shots, moving discreetly so as not to disrupt the spontaneity of the scene. I refuse any manipulation or alteration in post-production: my images do not seek to comply with an aesthetic fiction, but to preserve a true and authentic record for future generations.
